so what is left
if that is true
in connection with me and you

that love is real
and might grow

but mixed with dreams
of certainty
that things of marriage
seem to be
will kill it
left center right
and make the dreams
as black as night

so what of sex
and what of kids
and all the joys
that life can give

i'll tell you truly
what i know
it's disappointment
they do sow

our only hope
i know it's grand
is locating god in man
